1. Regrettably, Saku beer has been unavailable for import since mid-December 2003.
In part, this was caused by the
enactment of USFDA regulations imposed by the
Department of Homeland Security.
2. Distribution of Saku beer in the United States and parts of Canada has been
suspended due to illness
of the importer and distributor, Mr. O.T. Maide.
Warehouse and distributor inventory was mostly exhausted
by fall of 2004.
3. Our primary contact and the long-time vice president (director) of sales and exports at
the Saku Brewery,
Mr. Jänese, resigned in August 2004. Also, major ownership
changes and corporate restructuring have taken
place at Saku Brewery. Subsequently,
there has been no brewery support for importing beer to the United
States.
4. Communication between the brewery and Mr. O.T. Maide's successor is ongoing.
There is some optimism
that imports can be resumed later in 2005.
